This program supports the secondary education of academically bright children belonging to either poor household or single parent/parentless household. As a part of the scholarship program, we support the education of the students through provision of tuition fee, textbooks, uniform, coaching, etc. Guidance in terms of Career Counselling is also provided to help the students make an informed decision regarding their future. In addition to that, we foster holistic development through educational activities and guest lectures by field experts.

Peer-learning Groups

Kutumb Peer Learning Groups

Quality learning can be achieved through collaboration and not in isolation. Thus, at Kutumb we promote peer learning by conducting regular peer meetings for children belonging to the same age group. The peer learning group for the boys is termed as ‘Parivartan’ (Transformation), while that for the girls is called ‘Disha’ (Direction). These groups are further sub-divided according to the different age groups.

The peer-learning groups meet regularly every 15 day and have a discussion on various topics of concern in their everyday life. The students run the discussion with minimal moderation. The volunteers of Kutumb only nudge the kids if required as the aim of the activity is to promote open learning environment. As a direct consequence of such discussions, many positive changes have been observed in the behaviour and personality of the students. It has been a vital cog in their holistic development.
