SANGAT MAHAVIDYALAYA

The Sangat Mahavidyalaya curriculum is designed so that learning happens in holistic way to create a solid all-round music foundation in a child. For the school it is essential to measure the learning outcomes of the music program in a wider context. Music education is a process of discovery and adventure of the teacher and children together.

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS

Sangat Mahavidyalaya (Affiliated to Prayag Sangeet Samiti, Prayagraj) combines the age-old traditions of Indian music with internationally developed teaching methodology and pedagogy. A holistic and multi-sensory approach to music education is adapted to Indian music, sensibilities and culture.

Sangat see an important role for Indian music education in today’s world to bridge tradition with modern methods. Indian music concepts of rhythm and melody are among the highest developed music systems in the world and should be shared with all children and not kept to only a few. Their mission through Sangat Mahavidyalaya(SANGAT ) is to promote India’s classical music and dance in a manner that meets the developmental needs of children and promotes the joy that comes with having music in your life. and knowledge about their cultural heritage through addition of theatre and yoga. In Sangat Mahavidyalaya no child is left behind and all children become creators

VISION

When we start in early childhood to teach the foundation of Indian music, children will either be ready to take on the full, demanding training required in the classical arts through the guru shishya parampara, choose another musical style or will have acquired the foundation to enjoy (classical) music the rest of their lives. We need both Taansens AND Kaansens. And we need all children to love music. Let’s join hands to make this change.
