AMRITA MENSTRUAL AWARENESS

The Amrita Menstrual Hygiene Awareness Program aims to break this cycle by educating women and girls about menstrual health, providing them with sustainable menstrual products, and creating community awareness to eliminate the stigma associated with menstruation.

OUR VISION

The Amrita Menstrual Hygiene Awareness Program is about more than just distributing products—it's about changing mindsets, improving health outcomes, and empowering women and girls to live with dignity. By breaking the silence around menstruation and equipping women with the right knowledge and resources, the program aims to:

  • Reduce health complications like infections and reproductive tract diseases
  • Increase school attendance among girls
  • Empower women through education and open dialogue
  • Foster long-term community awareness and destigmatization of menstruation

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHT

The Amrita Program conducts culturally sensitive workshops covering essential topics such as:

  • Anatomy and physiology of menstruation
  • Importance of menstrual hygiene  practices
  • Water, sanitation, and hygiene  (WASH) practices
  • Dispelling myths and misconceptions about menstruation
  • Safe disposal of sanitary products
  • Benefits of reusable menstrual products like washable sanitary pads
